Mumbo, Collins is a lecturer of Kiswahili Literature and African Theatre in the department of Kiswahili and Other African Languages at Moi University. He holds an M.Phil in Swahili Studies and B.Ed (Arts) from Moi University, Eldoret Kenya. Mumbo’s research interest is in Pan-African studies, oral literature as performance, performing arts and drama for development. Mumbo has published in the area of oral tradition as therapy, Kiswahili literature and pan-African integration. He has also published a couple of books which include two plays in Kiswahili Pumzi ya Malaika Queenex Publishers 2021 and Kosa si Kosa Oxford University Press 2009. Other books include Kiswahili course books for schools in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda with the title; Johari ya Kiswahili published by EAEP. Nairobi Kenya and Ujuzi Books in Tanzania. Mumbo was engaged as an editorial consultant by EAEP leading a team of editors for a lexicography project which culminated into the publication of Kamusi Teule 2014. He is currently a PhD fellow of “Recalibrating Afrikanistik” at Bayreuth University Germany.
