2023 Partial PhD Scholarships
The Moi University African Cluster Centre (Moi–ACC) is offering 3 partial PhD scholarships over the 2023–2024 academic year. The scholarships will be tenable at Moi University, Eldoret,
Kenya.
The scholarships will be awarded to students from diverse academic disciplines in the social sciences and humanities who are pursuing projects that are aligned to the theoretical and
thematic agendas of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence. (These are available at www.africamultiple.uni-bayreuth.de.)
The scholarships will cover tuition fees for 1 academic year plus funding for field work worth 2,100 euros (around Ksh 270,000).
Once in the programme, the scholars will be required to give a quarterly progress report on their studies. In addition, the scholars will be expected to participate in regular ACC events, like
seminars and workshops.
To apply, one must:
▪ Be a bona fide PhD student of Moi University;
▪ Have passed the Year 1 taught courses;
▪ Be developing a research proposal, or carrying out research, that falls under the general category of the study of Africa.
