Bio
Cherotich Kibet is a screenwriter, film, and documentary producer boasting over 7-years of experience in the creative industry. She is an Artist in Residency at the Moi University African Cluster Center working on a compelling documentary about the life of a South Sudanese comedian from Kakuma refugee camp. In 2022, she was among the fourteen female filmmakers selected by Docubox EA Film Fund for the Filamu Dada project that spotlights women in leadership. In 2021, she was one of the 20 writers selected countrywide for the Inaugural Kalasha Writers Residency by the Kenya Film Commission. Cherotich is interested in Development Communication and has since worked as a research assistant for Nat Geo Wild’s Team Sayari a show educating children on conservation matters. She was the set runner and assisted in recruiting talent for Buni Media’s pilot project Dogodogo a show that teaches children about animals and how to co-exist with them. Cherotich aims to create stories that engage audiences while telling authentic stories for entertainment and education. Some of her other notable projects include Volume Series on Netflix,
Salem on Maisha Magic Plus, and Too Much Information with Ty Ngachira a political satire show which aired on NTV. She graduated from Moi University with a BA in Film Studies and Media and is currently pursuing her MA in Development Communication at Daystar University.
