Ms. Joan Koech- This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., is a PhD student in Anthropology and holds a Master of Arts in Anthropology. Currently she works as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Moi University, Kenya. She has over 8 years experience in teaching at Moi University and other universities. Research and academic interest are in the area of Cultural Anthropology and Medical Anthropology, more specifically in, Ethnography of African Societies; Culture and Society; Culture and Health. She has contributed to review of undergraduate curricula and research activities. Ms. Koech has been involved in research projects such as Centre of Excellence in Phyto-Chemicals, Textile and Renewable Energy (PTRE) (ACE II) Project- (Gender Perspective), Moi University; Cross-Cultural Histories of Family Care-Giving to AIDS Orphans in Western Kenya; Women’s Participation in HIV/AIDS Communication in Uasin Gishu County-Funded by Institute of Gender Equity, Research and Development (IGERD) Moi University. Currently Ms. Koech is a researcher in Mobilities Research Section in African Cluster Centre-Moi University. Areas of Research interest include African Cultures, Gender, Health and Population studies.
