Moi University Deepens Ties with Germanys Byreuth University 22nd September 2025

On Monday, September 22, 2025, Moi University welcomed a high-level delegation from Germany's Bayreuth University to its Main Campus, celebrating a significant step in their collaboration by extending their academic and research partnership for another seven years.

The delegation was led by Bayreuth University President, Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible, who praised the long-standing and fruitful relationship with Moi University. He commended the institution for its commitment to academic excellence and stated the partnership has created a solid foundation for impactful collaboration and mutual growth.

He was accompanied by a team including Prof. Dr. Eva Spies, Vice Dean for Research at Africa Multiple, Stefanie Jost, Financial Manager, and Nahrim Lahdo, Quality Manager.

Moi University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kiplagat Kotut, welcomed the group, lauding the cooperation as a model international academic partnership. He stated that the extension aligns with the university's mission to be a global center of excellence.

The renewed partnership will continue to focus on joint research, academic exchanges, staff development, and capacity building. It is expected to further enhance research within the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence and promote cross-cultural academic experiences, strengthening the academic ties between Kenya and Germany.
